Clothespins act to promote UE ROM, fine motor coordination, sensory perception, and facilitate UB dressing tasks with reaching and coordination.
Clothing selection to increase decision-making for weather-appropriate clothing. Provided pt 2 choices of each piece of clothing for pt to chose from.
Cognitive increased time given for pt to remember dress sequence secondary to cognitive decline.
Compensatory training with AD button hook, long-handled reacher, dressing stick, and zipper pull for UB dressing.
Core rotation to donn/doff a heavier jacket or bathrobe.
Dep with donning and doffing shirt.
Education on one-handed dressing technique. Pt required min/mod VC for proper technique. Recommend continuing to address one-handed dressing technique to increase w/ ADLs.
Elbow flexion for threading UE into shirt sleeve.
Looped tband around wrist <> shoulder to facilitate threading during UB dressing. Physical assistance at the elbow and shoulder to increase range of motion and assist with threading tband.
Max a to donn shirt.
Min a to assist w/ threading shirt.
Mod a to thread shirt due to limited ROM.
Physical assistance to thread UE through sleeve.
Physical assist to obtain clothing due to decrease UE strength.
Posterior pass backs act to promote shoulder rotation, UE ROM, coordination, grasp, and trunk mobility for UB dressing.
Preparatory act with tband for up and over for UB dressing. Verbal and visual cues to maintain cervical extension and adjust posture. Tactile facilitate at thoracic spine to squeeze shoulder blades while lifting band overhead. Physical assist to increase ROM and lift band overhead
Provided visual cues on drawers to locate appropriate clothing. tactile cues for facilitation of shoulder flexion to donn shirt. physical assistance to thread UE through sleeve. verbal cues for wrist control while adjusting straps on clothing. verbal and visual cues for proper instruction for use of button hook. tactile cues used to donn shirt due to left side neglect. physical assistance with hand over hand techniques for correct sequencing. increased time for patient to remember dress sequence secondary to cognitive decline. tactile facilitation on shoulder girdle to maximize ROM.
Pt engages in clothing selection to encourage independence and personal expression, support cognitive skills, such as problem-solving and memory recall, in selecting outfits. Requires increased time for decision making.
Pt participates in UB dressing seated at EOB/ in W/C.
Shoulder external rotation for tucking in a tag.
Shoulder flexion act for lifting shirt overhead and tucking in tags.
Shoulder internal rotation for tucking the back of one's shirt in, pulling up back of pants.
Shoulder press for lifting shirt overhead, and putting up hood.
Tactile cues for facilitation of shoulder flexion to donn shirt. Tactile cues used to donn shirt due to left/right side neglect. Provided tactile facilitation on shoulder girdle to maximize ROM while donning shirt overhead. Tactile cues to extend elbow to thread thoroughly through sleeve. Cognitive increased time given for patient to remember dress sequence secondary to cognitive decline.
Towel slides on mat act to target shoulder and elbow ext, shoulder abd/add, trunk mobility and weight shifting unsupported for UB dressing/toileting task.
Trunk rotation act seated at EOB OR edge of mat table to focus on crossing midline, improving core strength and control, shoulder/elbow ROM, and sitting balance for UB dressing.
UB Pt has difficulty with threading clothing on R side. Educated patient on compensatory strategies for hemi dressing. Provided hand-over-hand technique for correct sequencing.
UB up and overs act to promote overhead reach, coordination and shoulder ROM needed to doff/donn clothing. Requires vc to look forward and maintain cervical extension.
VC required for proper threading technique to donn UE into shirt due to difficulty sequencing
